Many people have different opinions about which blogging software is the best. Some people choose not to use open source software because of uncertainty of the software security. After all, if it’s open source, anybody can easily view the source and try to find some kind of loophole to exploit.
When it comes to professional blogging software, you can never go wrong with WordPress. I believe WordPress is the best free open source blogging software out there. I have never seen any paid software that exceeds WordPress in all the features it provides. Here are some basic reasons why I think WordPress is the best open source blogging software there is.

For this type of software, you would be expected to pay hundreds of dollars for a license. What makes WordPress so popular and effective is that it’s made by the public, for the public, and WordPress is absolutely free, and you can download it here.

This is an excellent free feature about WordPress that I love most. Making yourself stand out can be particularly hard, especially when your blog looks like others’. WordPress has thousands of free themes that you can download and install simply and easily.

Among one of the most essential parts of WordPress are the WordPress plugins. A plugin is simply an additional feature created by the WordPress community, free of charge, that you can integrate to your site for a specific purpose.

WordPress automatically notifies when there is a new version of WordPress software available.
